Eight Issued Medical Suspensions After UFC on Fox: Evans vs. Davis

A total of eight fighters who competed at UFC on Fox: Evans vs. Davis on Saturday were given medical suspensions ranging from 30 to 60 days.

MMAjunkie.com confirmed the news today with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, which oversees boxing and MMA in the state. Saturday’s event took place at the United Center in Chicago.

Included among the group is main-event fighter Phil Davis, who was defeated by Rashad Evans in a five-round decision. He is out for 45 days with no contact for the next 30. Also suspended was main-card fighter Chris Weidman, who took the fight against Demian Maia on under two weeks notice. He was given a 30-day suspension following a unanimous decision victory.

The remaining six men who were suspended all competed on the preliminary card, which was broadcast live on Fuel TV. John-Olav Einemo, Nik Lentz, George Roop, Joey Beltran, Dustin Jacoby and Chris Camozzi all were hit with medical suspensions.
