The Ironman continues his reign over metal, adding a second leg to his North American tour on the heels of his first performance in Israel.
Ozzy Osbourne and his band along with new axe-man Gus G, brought their show and the rest of the carnival that is Ozzfest to Tel Aviv, Israel forging a milestone in both Osbourne and Israel’s musical history. The anticipation among fans was high and at 61 years of age Ozzy proved himself to the tens of thousands of fans, playing a slew of hits from his near 40-year catalog of material. Mako.co.il noted, “Ozzy Osbourne lifted Tel Aviv with a crazy show. With simplicity and (relative) modesty, the prince of darkness gave his heart and soul with big love to the Israeli crowd.”
Following the historical show in Israel, Ozzy and crew will headline the Voodoo Experience Music Festival in New Orleans, LA Halloween weekend. With a lineup that includes MGMT, Drake and Weezer among other acts, Ozzy will be a standout and seems more than an appropriate closer for the Halloween festivities.
Wrapping up 2010 with December shows at New York’s famed Madison Square Garden with longtime musical contemporary Rob Halford, Ozzy will make a six-week trek across the US. Longtime friend, Slash will open the shows which include a pair of scaled down more intimate performances at Phoenix’s Dodge Theater and the Gibson Theater in Los Angeles.
Ozzy performed guest vocals on Slashes first solo album which was released earlier in the year.
The fall dates will coincide with the October 5th release of an expanded two-CD version of his latest album “Scream.” This “Tour Edition” package will feature seven bonus songs: a mix of previously unreleased tracks and live recordings.
