Miranda Lambert is a multiple award-winning artist and country music icon hailing from Texas. She released her debut album Kerosene in 2005 and hasn’t looked back since.

Lambert has released six records since then with all of them going platinum. She has appeared as the face of Cotton Inc, released a pair of signature boots with DSW, and she partnered with Ram Trucks in 2014. Her face is seemingly everywhere and the momentum has no signs of stopping.

Lambert has once again scored a 2017 Academy of Country Music Award for Best Female Vocalist, and to celebrate her career as an award-winning artist, here are 5 fast facts you need to know about Miranda Lambert.


1. She is a Member of the Pistol Annies

Lambert is a member of the country music supergroup The Pistol Annies along with Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley.
They debuted in April of 2011 on a CBS special Academy of Country Music’s Girls Night Out: Superstar Women of Country.

They then released their debut album Hell on Heels which ran up the charts.


2. Her Father Played in a Band Called Contraband

Lambert’s father Rick Lambert, was a budding music star, police officer, and played in a country-rock band called Contraband in Texas.

Miranda Lambert made her professional singing debut with The Texas Pride Band in her home state. Lambert also fronted the house band at the Reo Palms Isle in Longview, TX. The Reo Palms showcased heavyweights Elvis Presley and Willie Nelson, and is the place where country music legends Brooks & Dunn got their start as the house band.


3. She Received a Record Setting 9 CMA Award Nominations in 2010

Lambert was riding high in 2010 with the released of her record Revolution. Lambert received multiple awards that year including a then record-setting 9 CMA nominations where she won the CMA for Female Vocalist of the Year, with Revolution winning Album of the Year.

At the awards she collaborated with Sheryl Crow to perform Loretta Lynn’s “Coal-Miner’s Daughter” with Lynn eventually joining them on stage.

Lambert also won a Grammy Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance for “The House That Built Me.”


4. Lambert Made her Acting Debut in Law and Order: Special Victims Unit

Miranda Lambert is not shy in front of the camera. In 2012, she made her acting debut on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit in the “Father’s Shadow” episode.

Lambert goes on to say: “I never wanted to act. I still don’t. I don’t want to be an actress. I just wanted to be on that show mainly so I could be a groupie.”


5. She Has Won Seven Consecutive ACM Female Vocalist of the Year Awards

Lambert is the female voice of country music. the superstar has won seven consecutive Country Music Female Vocalist of the Year awards with the most consecutive wins in that category.

Lambert has also become the first woman to have won the Country Music Association Awards’ Album of the Year twice.

She has successfully won two Grammy Awards out off twelve nominations.
