In a recent interview with DJ Semtex, Drake directly addressed the allegations that he stole a rap flow from up-and-comer XXXTENTACION. He denied ever doing so intentionally, saying he had never heard of or spoken with XXTENTACION or his single prior to the rumors:

“I [listened to “Look at Me”] and I’m like, okay, I see where people could draw this comparison off of the first two lines, whether it be cadence or the rhyme pattern or whatever.” Drake went on to say that “It’s crazy that people think that after all this time, after all I’ve been through, that I’m the type of person… to go and take that and make it my own. I’m not stupid, I’m not a sh*t person like that.” Listen to the full interview here.

According to XXXTENTACION’s former manager, however, Drake is not being completely truthful. Late on Tuesday night, No Jumper podcast host Adam22 (aka X’s former manager) claimed that Drake reached out to XXXTENTACION producer DJ Carnage to let him know that he was a fan of “Look At Me” a full week before Drake’s alleged ‘biting’ began.

Adam is playing things sans confrontation, though, telling the rest of the podcast panel that he’s “open to both scenarios” regarding the “Look At Me” flow. Drake has not responded to this new development.
