Devon Walker: Surgery Stabilizes Spine of Tulane Player with Broken Neck

Following a traumatic injury that occurred on September 8, Tulane safety Devon Walker successfully underwent surgery that helped stabilize his spine. Injured during a head-on collision with a teammate against Tulsa, Walker’s spine was fractured and he was in serious condition.

Receiving three hours of surgery on Sunday at St. Francis hospital, Walker is expected to remain in intesive care for the time being until the injury can be re-assessed in a few days. All reports indicate that the Tulane safety is in stable condition and he is doing well following the surgery.
