Nickolodeon Kids Predict Obama As Winner In National Poll

When people are trying to predetermine the results of the next presidential election, few would suggest asking children. But that’s exactly what Nickelodeon’s Kids Pick The President special does.

More than that, its millions-strong respondents have managed to accurately determine five of the last six elections.

It makes sense, as children are likely to vote similar to their parents, and may even be more readily forthright with the information. This year’s pick is Obama by a landslide margin of 65 percent, much more than his 51 percent against McCain in the previous election.

Given the poll’s track record, people are paying attention, including gambling circles and others with immediate interests. Another significant children’s poll called The Scholastic Poll of Students has also predicted Obama as the winner, with 51 percent to Romney’s 45 percent.
