Zumba Whorehouse Scandal Gets its Own Rap Song: ‘I Wish I Knew’

In the latest development in the Zumba Whorehouse Scandal, Maine-based comedy rapper named Cam Groves has released a track dedicated to the event. I’m sure it’s dedicated to the johns.

Groves’ lyrics joke of his frustration at hearing of the brothel only after it was raided. He also compliments the brothel’s alleged madam on her “fine ass.”

Yesterday the list of “johns” was updated to include ages and addresses, which diminished the anonymity of most of the clients. Former mayor of the city of South Portland, James A. Soule, was one of the names on the list, as was prominent local lawyer Jens W. Bergen.

Alexis Wright, proprietor of the Zumba Dance Studio that is alleged to have doubled as a brothel, is charged with 106 counts of prostitution, to which she is pleading not guilty. Her alleged co-conspirator, Mark Strong Sr., is pleading not guilty to 59 counts of aiding prostitution. They’re also suspected of secretly recording the sex acts.
