Acapulco Gang Rape, Acapulco, Mexico, Spanish Women Gang-Raped

Six Spanish women on vacation in the famous Mexican tourist resort of Acapulco were attacked by a group of armed masked men while they slept in a rented beach bungalow on Monday. The five men tied up their partners with telephone cords and bikinis and gang-raped the group of women.

A seventh woman was with the group, but the men spared her because she was Mexican.

The rapists fled the scene and made off with the tourist’s cash, credit cards and cell phones. The victms, who range from 20 to 34 years old, are currently under the protection of Mexican authorities.

Acapulco Mayor Luis Walton condemned the attack, but seemed to be more concerned about the vacation spot’s image rather than the well-being of the women, saying that the incident could tarnish revenue it receives from tourists.

“We know that it’s very unfortunate what has happened, but it happens anywhere in the world,” Walton said.

The mayor later apologized for his comments, saying that they were never meant to harm the victims.

Fortunately, Guerrero state Attorney General Martha Garzon said that they have strong evidence pointing them toward the men who are responsible for the attack.
