3 Marines Dead, Quantico, Quantico Virginia

Three marines, including a gunman, are confirmed dead after a shooting at Marine Base Quantico in Virginia on Thursday, reports CBS News.

The gunman and authorities entered a standoff after a fatal shooting around 11 p.m. that culminated early Friday morning with the gunman dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. When authorities entered the barracks where the gunman barricaded him or herself inside of, they found him dead along with another victim.

Names have not been released, but Lt. Agustin Solivan says it is believed that the gunman was a staff member at the base. The two others that were killed were also marines.

The shooting comes just two days after seven marines were killed in an explosion at the Hawthorne Army Depot in Nevada.
