Sulaiman Abu Ghaith Captured: Families of 9/11 Victims Eager for Justice

Sulaiman Abu Ghaith, the son-in-law of Osama bin Laden who served as a spokesman for Al Qaeda, was recently captured by the CIA and the FBI and many families of 9/11 victims are happy to see justice get served.

Gaith is married to one of Bin Laden’s daughters, Fatima, and officials say that he assisted Bin Laden from May 2001 through part of 2002 and has been seen on video praising the September 11 attacks. Piers Morgan welcomed on his show, Piers Morgan Tonight, Former Deputy FDNY Chief Jim Riches, who lost his son on 9/11.

“The families are very happy that he’s been caught,” Riches said. “There has been no justice for the families.”

Gaith was captured in the last week and, according to a federal indictment, is scheduled to appear in federal court on Friday on charges of conspiracy to kill United States nationals, reports BBC.

“This arrest sends an unmistakable message: There is no corner of the world where you can escape from justice,” Atty. Gen. Eric H. Holder Jr. said.

If Gaith is convicted, he faces life behind bars without parole.
