The cause of the fire is still being investigated, but there are reports that a short circuit is to blame. Most of the victims are believed to be patients at the hospital, but two nurses are also reported dead. A third nurse managed to save two patients and are the only ones who made it out alive out of the 41 people in the hospital at the time.

“The fire started when they were asleep,” a law enforcement official said. “Some of them tried to escape but were poisoned by the products of combustion.”

Although all of the windows of the facility have bars over them, most of the victims were found in their beds. Their ages range from 20 to 76.
