Sunil Tripathi is the Brown University student who has been missing since March 16, reports CNN. It has been speculated that he is one of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects, however, Pete Williams says that those rumors are false:

Here’s what you need to know about Sunil Tripathi.

1. He Went to Brown University

Tripathi grew up in Radnor, Pennsylvannia, but has been living in Providence, Rhode Island since 2008. He was a philosophy major at Brown University. He requested leave from the school last year and was granted time off, but remained a student there.
2. He’s Been Missing Since March 16

This surveillance footage still shows the last time Tripathi is believed to have been seen.

According to ABC News, the 22-year-old Brown student was last seen in the campus area on March 16. He was wearing blue jeans, a black Eastern Mountain Sports ski jacket, glasses and a Philadelphia Eagles wool hat. Tripathi is about 6 feet tall, 130 pounds and has short dark hair. In his apartment, Tripathi left behind both his wallet and cellphone. Police have no idea where he could be.

“We don’t have a direction, we don’t have a possible area,” Det. Mark Sacco, of the Providence Police Department, told the Philadelphia Inquirer. “That is the strange part of the case – it starts and ends in his room.”

3. His Family Made a Youtube Video for Him

His family has been desperately looking for the missing student since his disappearance.

“We miss his warm smile and generous gentle spirit so very much,” his family said in a statement. “Your help and prayers to find him mean so much.”

Friends and family of Tripathi also made a Youtube video in hopes that it would help bring him home. Check it out above.

4. He Suffers From Depression

Accordng to the New York Daily News, Tripathi has suffered from depression since he took a leave of absence from Brown. A message on a “Help Us Find Sunil Tripathi” Facebook page said that a note he left behind suggests he may have been suicidal.

“Sunil has been struggling with depression since he took a leave of absence from Brown last year,” the Facebook page stated. “A note suggestive of suicidal intent left behind in his apartment has his family extremely worried.”

His brother, Ravi, said that Tripathi enjoyed listening to classical music and that he is a talented saxophonist.
