Facebook Makes Fortune 500; Wal-Mart Tops List at No. 1

Social media juggernaut Facebook has made its first appearance on the Fortune 500 list, ranking at No. 482 with $5.1 billion in revenues and $53 million in profits.

Fortune magazine released the annual revenues-based rankings this morning.

Wal-Mart topped the list with $469.2 billion in revenues, followed by Exxon Mobil, Chevron, Phillips 66, Berkshire Hathaway and Apple, which, at No. 6, is in the top 10 for the first time — with $156.5 billion in revenues and more than 42 billion in profits. It jumped 11 places from last year’s list.
