The Secret Service is orchestrating a response to a bomb scare in Washington, D.C.

Here’s what we know about this breaking story.

1. The Secret Service says a man is in a vehicle in the parking garage of the Washington Hilton on Connecticut Avenue, claiming to have a bomb.

2. The Secret Service is taking the threat seriously and blocking off roads in the area — Florida Avenue, Connecticut Avenue and T Street.

3. President Obama most recent public appearance was today at 11 a.m. at the National Law Enforcement Memorial for an annual ceremony honoring officers killed in the line of duty. The memorial is about 3 miles from the Hilton. Right now Obama’s schedule has him eating lunch with Vice President Joe Biden in a private meeting at the White House.

3. The hotel, owned by an investment firm fronted by Magic Johnson, the Canyon Johnson Urban Fund 2, is the same hotel that hosted the White House Correspondents Dinner.

5. It’s also the same hotel where Reagan was shot.
