Egyptian officials have confirmed that a joint operation involving an Israeli predator drone has killed five suspected militants in the Northern part of the Sinai peninsula. The attack also destroyed a rocket launcher.
According to an AP report, nearby residents heard a large explosion near the Egypt-Israeli boarder.
Egyptian forces have been engaged in an effort to remove and eliminate Islamic extremist from the region. It is likely that this attack is related the yesterday’s closure of an airport in Eilat, Israel.
