Riley Cooper, a wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, is being sent to sensitivity training by his team after video emerged of Cooper’s N-word-filled outburst at a Kenny Chesney concert.

The team released a statement on the matter:

In meeting with Riley yesterday, we decided together that his next step will be to seek outside assistance to help him fully understand the impact of his words and actions. He needs to reflect. As an organization, we will provide the resources he needs to do so.

Cooper made a public apology in a press conference Thursday.

After the video emerged on Wednesday, Cooper apologized profusely on Twitter:

According to Fox Sports, the Eagles immediately fined him for the racial remarks.

A representative for the Eagles has told TMZ, “Riley Cooper will be seeking counseling and we have excused him from all team activities.”
