The most important facts from the full conference below:

-Alexis was under the delusion that he’s controlled by electromagnetic waves, driven to his crimes by ELF (extra-low frequency) technology.

-Electronic media of multiple documents has been obtained that sheds light on the case, but not specified if it’s from a laptop or what kind of equipment.

-This will be the last press briefing on this case.

-Alexis didn’t email, phone, or speak to anyone prior to the events that would give a clue as to what would happen.

-They are still investigating who pulled the fire alarm in the building, but they don’t have any idea yet.

-Alexis had a performance issue at work prior to this, but they do not feel that it influenced his actions.

-Victims were shot at random as Alexis had no relationship with any of them, nor did he know any of them.

-Alexis was shot by law officials on the 3rd floor of the building.

-Signs of mental illness are quite apparent.

-The FBI doesn’t know where the system failed, allowing Alexis on the property.

-The NCIS states that they will continue assisting those impacted by the horrific events.

-They have filed motions to release the affadavits for search warrants.

-Law officials are taking comfort in the teamwork that went on that day amongst responders and witnesses.

One fact that should be noted is that though the FBI says they don’t know where the system failed, an article on Reuters states that:

Federal prosecutors have documented at least 350 instances of faulty background investigations done by private contractors and special agents for the U.S. Office of Personnel Management in recent years, illustrating what some lawmakers call systemic weaknesses in the granting of federal security clearances.
