Vermont High School Lockdown: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

Vermont state police are searched Winooski High School in Winooski, Vermont “closet by closet” after reports there were two armed men holed up in the school, reports The Burlington Free Press.

The school qA partially evacuated while the search went on but the students who remained inside were safe, according to police.

Here’s what you need to know:


1. There Was a Robbery at a Home Nearby Earlier

The armed men are believed to have attempted a home invasion close to the school, reports WCAX.

Two suspects were said to be driving a Ford Escape SUV with New York Plates.


2. There Are No Injuries So Farm

There are no reports of injuries or shots fired. According to reports from the ground, there are reports of around 60 police vehicles surrounding the school, Winooski police are the lead agency in the operation, with police dogs also being used in the search operation.


3. Panicked Parents Arrived on the Scene

Worried parents are arriving at the school, they picked up their children at the nearby Onion River Chiropractic. (Above)

One report suggests that parents were not notified properly about the unfolding situation.

All events at the school have been canceled for this evening.


4. One of the Armed Men May Have Had a Gun

Only one suspect was reported to have been carrying a gun. The other was armed with a crowbar.
