German skier Eric Frenzel won the first of three nordic combined competitions at the Sochi Olympics. The competition involves a combination of ski jumping and cross-country skiing. Frenzel led after the ski jumping event and then took home the gold on the cross-country course.

Here’s what he had to say to the press after winning his gold medal.
