At 90 +2, Arjen Robben of the Netherlands was taken down inside the box by Mexico’s Rafa Marquez in the Round of 16. The referee made a very questionable call when he withdrew a yellow card for Marquez that would have had him sitting out in the next game had Mexico made it to the next round.
The Netherlands beat Mexico 2-1 after the penalty shot scored due to Marquez’s foul.
