Jacoby Brissett lost out to Jeff Driskel in the battle to become Florida's starting quarterback because of the perception that Driskel was a better runner.
But Brissett, now the starting quarterback at NC State, showed plenty of ability with his feet Saturday, eluding a near-certain sack and throwing a touchdown pass against top-ranked Florida State.
Brissett, a two-sport star while in high school in Daytona Beach, Florida, played two years for the Gators before transferring to NC State after the 2012 season.
In Raleigh, he's reunited with second-year head coach Dave Doeren, who recruited Brissett while an assistant coach at Wisconsin.
