How could they not know?

A United Kingdom Krispy Kreme is under fire and had to apologize after starting a “Krispy Kreme Klub” promo campaign, apparently oblivious to the acronymal association with the Ku Klux Klan hate group.

A company spokesperson gave this statement to USA Today:

We do believe this was a completely unintentional oversight on the part of our longtime franchise partners in the U.K.

The Krispy Kreme Klub was promoted with the poster below under “Wednesday.”

Apparently as a member of the KKK, you could come into Krispy Kreme and decorate your own doughnut.

We much prefer this KKK to the historical KKK, which was notorious for lynchings of African-Americans and other terror campaigns throughout the 19th and 20th centuries in the United States.
