WATCH: University of Oklahoma Fraternity Racist Chant

UPDATE 3/9/15 @ 10 AM: The video has been confirmed to be University of Oklahoma fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon. OU President David Borden has closed the fraternity and kicked them off campus, effective immediately. KOCO 5 of Oklahoma reports:

Sunday night, the national SAE organization closed the chapter, effective immediately. OU President David Boren said the members of the fraternity have until midnight to get off campus.

“In addition, all of the members have been suspended, and those members who are responsible for the incident may have their membership privileges revoked permanently,” the national organization said in a statement. “We apologize for the unacceptable and racist behavior of the individuals in the video, and we are disgusted that any member would act in such a way. Furthermore, we are embarrassed by this video and offer our empathy not only to anyone outside the organization who is offended but also to our brothers who come from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures and ethnicities.”

Protests against SAE started at around 7:30 AM this morning on the OU campus.

A viral YouTube video appears to show University of Oklahoma fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon members singing “there will never be a n*gger in SAE.”

The song then continues to the lyrics “you can hang them from a tree, but they’ll never sign with me.”

A majority of the men in what appears to be a bus know the lyrics.

The link to the video was tweeted at University of Oklahoma President David Borden earlier tonight.

David Borden has already responded via Twitter.

Again, the video is not confirmed to be OU students. According to local Oklahoma newstation KFOR, it was allegedly filmed Saturday night on the way to a date party for the fraternity’s founder’s day.
