Ric Flair’s son-in-law has been accused of strangulation and false imprisonment in Florida. The suspect is TNA star Bram, real name Thomas Latimer, who was taken into custody in Gulfport early on the morning of August 30. The following day, Bram was suspended from Total Nonstop Action, the wrestling promotion where he works. He’s an English native who worked for the WWE until November 2012 when he was controversially arrested.
Here’s what you need to know:
1. He’s Been Suspended ‘Indefinitely’ From Wrestling
According to an official statement from TNA, “The charges against Thomas Latimer are serious, and he is immediately and indefinitely suspended from any future TNA-sanctioned events awaiting the outcome of the case.”
2. Bram & Ric Flair’s Daughter Are No Longer Together
Bram is no longer in a relationship with Ric Flair’s daughter, WWE star Charlotte. The couple are still married, having tied the knot in 2013. Bram told the Daily Mirror in 2014 that he had a good relationship with the Nature Boy saying “It’s not something you think about. If you had told me all of the things I would have done, people that I would have met when I was 13, I would have been like ‘wow’. But as the years pass, everything kind of seems normal. From an outside point of view it might seem cool or bizarre, but to me it’s normal.”
According to the Twitter account of Ashley Allen, she’s in a relationship with Bram. She posted the above photo of the couple together on August 6. She’s a Georgia-born aspiring actress and costume designer.
3. He Was Released From the WWE in 2012 for Attacking a Cop
Pro Wrestling Illustrated reported in November 2012 that Bram was arrested for being drunk and disorderly and attacking an officer in St. Petersburg. That arrest resulted in his release from WWE. A year prior to that, Bram had been accused of a DUI in Florida.
4. His Ex-Wife Was Arrested for Attacking a Cop in 2008
His wife, Charlotte, real name Ashley Elizabeth Fliehr-Latimer, was arrested in September 2008, accused of fighting a police officer in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. That incident involved her first husband, Riki Johnson, and her dad, Ric Flair, reported ABC 11.
5. Bram Is Also a Nutritional Spokesman
In addition to his wrestling work, Bram is a brand ambassador for Anabolic Designs, a sports nutrition company.
