Well, this certainly doesn’t look like two people who consider each other family.
Hours after Serena Williams dominated on the court, and won the WTA tournament in Cincinnati on Sunday, the tennis pro and Drake were spotted getting rather close at a fancy downtown restaurant. Very close. TMZ published photos of the two making out in a back corner of the uber-fancy Sotto restaurant.
The pair, who have previously been rumored to be dating several times, were spotted in a private room and, according to TMZ, couldn’t keep their hands off of each other, despite being joined by six other people for dinner. Click here to check out all of the photos.
Drake and Williams were most recently linked last month, when the rapper showed up in her box at Wimbledon, cheering with the entire Williams family as the world No. 1 clinched her sixth title at the tournament. According to a South African publication called Times Now, that court-side appearance was the start of the relationship:
A source said: Publicly she says they’re just friends but Drake has been by Serena’s side throughout the tournament and when they’ve been away from the public and relaxed, it’s been pretty obvious that they are together. Even Serena’s team have been talking about it in the clubhouse to a few people they trust. She has been incredibly focused on her title bid. But if she’s had a quiet moment she’s spent it with Drake, even going to watch his Wireless set and having dinners in London.
That’s not all though. In 2011, Drake and Common, William’s ex-boyfriend, reportedly feuded over the tennis standout. Fuel was added to the relationship fire when Drake and Williams were spotted playing tennis together at a Florida resort.
When asked about Drake earlier this year though, Williams seemed to put relationship rumors to rest, telling reporters, “We’ve been friends for, like, so many years. Just like family.” Those make out pictures didn’t quite look like family.
Of course, Drake has long been linked with all of the top names in sports. He’s got a bit of a reputation as a bandwagon fan and seems to simply enjoy being seen with big-names, even in the tennis world. Check it out:
Williams was most recently linked to her coach, Patrick Mouratoglu, who she hired in June 2012. Mouratoglu has been credited with turning around Williams’ career after a particularly disappointing loss at the French Open and the two have reportedly been dating since September 2012.
