In yet another attempt to get to hell as soon as possible, the Westboro Baptist Church has announced plans to picket the funeral of slain Colorado Springs cop Garrett Swasey. Two other people were killed and nine other injured after the attack at a Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood clinic on the night of November 27. In one posting, the group referred to the town of Colorado Springs as being “full of fags and abortion.”
In response to a tweet challenging the group to come to Colorado Springs, the official account wrote:
Later the group showed the signs that they will show at Swasay’s funeral:
Police in the area have arrested 57-year-old Robert Lewis Dear in relation to the crime.
Since the attack the hateful Westboro Baptist Church has been tweeting up a storm via their official account “@WBSSaysRepent.” In one posting, which cites a New York Times piece which talked about Officer Swasey’s pro-life political beliefs and that he worked part-time as a pastor, Westboro tweeted “#pickefunerals.” The group has used one of their favorite, awful hashtags, “#GodSenttheShooter.”
The “church,” made their name in protesting the funerals of victims of tragedies — somehow relating the deaths to acceptance of homosexuality in society — has proven time and again that no tragedy is safe from the group’s vile opinions.
