Anonymous Announces ISIS Trolling ‘Day of Rage’

Hacktivist group Anonymous has declared Friday, December 11, 2015 as a “Day of Rage” against the Islamic State, with images of goats set to be used as weapons against Daesh supporters. The Day of Rage is in response to the November 13 terrorist attacks in Paris. They have also invited everyday people to join in. The information was shared on Anonymous affiliated Twitter accounts with the following meme:

Anonymous’ Twitter feed is already prepping for the day. Last week they “Rickrolled” ISIS affiliated Twitter accounts, and earlier 4Chan users PhotoShopped ISIS images with rubber duckies.

Anonymous also tweeted more info about the activities planned for December 11:

You may be wondering why we are ‘trolling’ ISIS and planning all these demonstrations against ISIS. They thrive off of fear, they hope that by their actions they can silence all of us and get us to just lay low and hide in fear. But what many forget, and even they do, is that there are many more people in the world against them than for them. And that is the goal of this mass uprising, on December 11th we will show them that we are not afraid, we will not just hide in our fear, we are the majority and with our strength in numbers we can make a real difference. We will mock them for the idiots they are. We hope to see you all brothers and sisters on December 11th. As we join together and show who we are, what we are and what we stand for… It will be a day they never forget.

It is not completely clear why Anonymous has chosen goats to attack ISIS on the Day of Rage, but there may be racist undertones. Anonymous is encouraging its followers to post goat photos directed at ISIS “with captions talking about their wives.”
