What time is the Mega Millions drawing tonight, January 19? What channel should I watch it on? How do I watch the Mega Millions drawing online? Get all the details you need on the live streams available for the drawing, what TV stations to watch, when the drawing will take place and more. Different channels will be broadcasting the drawing live depending on where you’re living.
Unlike Powerball, the Mega Millions website doesn’t share a list of channels that will broadcast the drawing live. However, a number of sources, listed below, indicate where it can be seen. Keep in mind that some stations may choose not to broadcast the drawing live if they deem the pot isn’t big enough, and broadcasts can change without warning. If that’s the case in your region, you can likely still catch a livestream of the drawing online.
If you missed the drawing, you can see the winning numbers at this link.
DATE: January 19, 2016 (and every Tuesday and Friday night)
MEGA MILLIONS AMOUNT: $30 Million for January 19
DRAWING TIME: 11:00 p.m. Eastern
DRAWING LIVE STREAM: There are several possibilities for watching a livestream of the Mega Millions drawing. None of these sites are guaranteed, as the livestream depends on whether the news station decides to broadcast the drawing. But these are your best bets:
WSB-TV in Atlanta, Georgia, is where the actual drawing takes place. WSB-TV has a livestream of its newscast at this link, where it will also show the drawing if it is broadcast.
HOW TO PLAY: To play Mega Millions, you will need to pick five numbers, 1 to 75, and then one number, 1 to 15. You can also use the “Easy Pick” option to have a computer select your numbers for you. You can buy a ticket at any retailer that sells lottery tickets, typically a gas station/convenience store or a grocery store. It costs $1 to play and in some states, ticket sales stop 15 minutes before the drawing. But in other states, sales stop an hour before. You should contact your local retailer to find out if this is different in your state. You can also buy tickets online in two states, just like you can for the Powerball. Mega Millions is played in 44 states plus Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
TV CHANNEL: The drawing is going to be broadcast on different networks depending on where you are living. The channels listed below aren’t guaranteed, but they have shown live broadcasts in the past. Channels sometimes change their minds on broadcasts from week to week. Note that the channel numbers may be different depending on your cable provider, but the broadcaster (ABC, CBS, etc.) should be the same. Keep a browser window open for the livestream in case your TV station decides not to broadcast the drawing.
WGN broadcasts the Powerball live. If your cable has a WGN affiliate, you may be able to watch the drawing live there if your local affiliate chooses to show it.
