In a surprising announcement, the Marco Rubio campaign has urged Ohio supporters to vote for John Kasich. The announcement was made as part of a continued effort to stop Donald Trump from winning the Republican nomination.

Kasich looks to have a chance to win his home state based on the early polling numbers. A recent poll conducted by FOX News has Kasich with a 5 percentage point lead over Trump. Trump leads Kasich in a number of early polls as well.

Kasich faces a must-win scenario in Ohio. He has said he will step away from the race if he loses his home state.
