Gladys Tordil was shot dead by her estranged husband, Eulalio Tordil, while picking up her children from school, Prince George’s County Police say. Now police are saying that Eulalio may be connected to another set of shootings that took place today. One of the shootings happened at the Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, Maryland, where three people were shot, including one person who was killed. A second shooting took place about eight miles away at a Giant grocery store in Aspen Hill, where a woman was killed.

The suspect is now in custody, according to ABC 7.

1. Gladys Ubaldo Tordil Was Shot by Her Estranged Husband While Picking Up Her Children at School


Gladys Ubaldo Tordil, 44, was shot while she was parked in her SUV at High Point High School in Prince George’s County. According to police, Eulalio, 62, followed her to the school, where she was picking up her two children. He had a confrontation with Gladys, shot a Good Samaritan and then shot her multiple times, police said. The shooting was caught on surveillance video.

One of her daughters saw the whole thing, Fox 5 DC reported. Eulalio fled the scene. He was taken into custody by police on Friday afternoon, ABC 7 reported:


2. Eulalio May Be Connected to Two Additional Shootings in Maryland This Morning

Police are now saying that Eulalio may be connected to two more shootings that happened in Maryland this morning. According to Prince George’s County Police, they are “looking into the possibility” that Eulalio may have been involved in one or both of this morning’s shootings.

The first shooting took place at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, Maryland, ABC News reported. A suspect got in an argument and shot one person and then shot two more people who came to help the victim, Montgomery County police said. One of the three victims died, one is in critical condition, and a third did not have life-threatening injuries.

About eight miles away, at a Giant grocery store in the Aspen Hill area, another woman was shot and killed.


3. Gladys Had a Protective Order Against Eulalio

Gladys had a protective order against her husband, according to WJLA-TV. They were estranged and the protective order was issued on March 16, according to ABC 7. After the protective order was issued, police seized weapons from Eulalio’s home. You can see the order here:


4. Gladys Tordil Was a High School Science Teacher and Had Two Daughters


Gladys was a respected high school science teacher at nearby Parkdale High School, according to the school’s website.

One of her students, Arnold Natalia, wrote on Facebook: “My honors chemistry teacher for my 11th grade year passed away. I always remember how hard you were on me. We bumped heads here and there during class. You made me love chemistry and pushed me to succeed. How hard you were on me, helped me pass. You will always live on.”

Another former student of Gladys’, Yung Nato, wrote on Facebook: “I wasn’t even supposed to pass but you looked out for me. It breaks my heart because you were such a good person and you shouldn’t have gone like that. I’ll always remember Gladys Tordil. And thank you for everything! May you watch over me and my daughter.”

5. Eulalio Tordil Worked for the Department of Homeland Security And May Have Threatened ‘Suicide by Cop’


Gladys’ husband, Eulalio, worked for the Department of Homeland Security. He was an employee of the Federal Protective Service, which is part of DHS, according to Prince George’s Police. He worked as a special administrator at the GS-12 level, which paid $90,744 in 2014 in Washington D.C., according to FederalPay.org. Before joining the FPS, he worked for the Bureau of Immigrations & Customs Enforcement as a Security Administrator.

According to Tordil’s wanted poster, he may have made threats to commit suicide by cop. He was apprehended on Friday afternoon, according to ABC 7, in the Aspen Hill area.
