A U.S. Army sergeant stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina is accused of kidnapping and raping a fellow soldier, police say.
Johnathan Simpson, 26, was arrested on charges of first-degree rape, first-degree kidnapping and sexual battery, the Fayetteville Observer reports.
The victim, also 26, was sexually assaulted on Monday, police told the newspaper. Police have not said if the victim was male or female.

1. The Victim Is Assigned to the Same Unit as Simpson, Police Say
The 26-year-old victim is assigned to the same unit as Simpson, WNCN-TV reports.
Police say the kidnapping and rape occurred Monday, April 25, in the 1000 block of Bragg Boulevard, according to the news station.
Fort Bragg and Army officials have not commented about the arrest.
2. He Has Been at Fort Bragg Since 2009 & Served in Afghanistan
Simpson has been stationed at Fort Bragg since 2009, he says on his Facebook page.
He has served in Afghanistan during his time in the Army.
Fort Bragg, the largest U.S. Army base by population, is home to more than 50,000 active duty soldiers.
3. He Is Separated From His Wife of 5 Years
Johnathan Simpson is separated from his wife, according to his Facebook page. They were married in 2011.
It is not clear when they separated.
“I am married to the most beautiful girl in the world, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been before, even if I am in a third world country while working almost 15 hrs a day. I have her and thats all i need to keep pushing forward, she is everything to me,” Simpson wrote on his Facebook page. “She is what makes the plants green, what makes the ocean’s current, she is the wind on my face, she is the warmth on a sunny summer day, she is what makes every snowflake unique. Most importantly she is mine and she is what makes me.”
4. He Is Originally From Dewitt, Iowa
Johnathan Simpson is originally from DeWitt, Iowa, according to his Facebook page.
He attended North Scott Senior High School from 2005 to 2007, before graduating from DeWitt Central High School in 2008.
5. He Is Being Held at the Cumberland County Jail on $250,000 Bail
Simpson, who was arrested at Fort Bragg on Friday, April 29, is being held at the Cumberland County Jail on $250,000 bail, according to online records.
It was not immediately known if he has hired an attorney.
The case was investigated by the Fayetteville Police Department’s Special Victims Unit and the Army’s Criminal Investigation Command, along with military police, according to the Fayetteville Observer.
