#DeleteYourAccount: Hillary Clinton & Donald Trump Engage in Heated Twitter Exchange

Following President Obama’s endorsement of Hillary Clinton on Thursday, the Democratic nominee engaged in a heated exchange with Donald Trump via Twitter.

Trump used his Twitter page to react to the news of the president endorsing Clinton, writing that nobody wants another four years of the Obama administration.

Clinton responded with three simple words: Delete your account.

“Delete your account” has become a popular Twitter meme used as a blunt negative reaction to a person’s post. When Jeb Bush infamously tweeted a picture of a gun with the word America on it, Edward Snowden himself replied with, “Delete your account.”

Trump fired back at Clinton by referencing her email controversy and by mocking her for having a large staff of employees compared to his relatively small team.

In fact, Clinton’s tweet was sent five minutes after Trump’s original posting, whereas his followup came more than two hours later.

Clinton and Trump weren’t the only ones getting in on the action, either. Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus also got in on the action, again by making reference to Clinton’s use of a private email server while she was secretary of state.

This may have been the first Twitter war of the general election season, but it undoubtedly will not be the last.
