WATCH: Trump Adviser Barry Bennett Brings up Waterboarding Hillary Clinton

On an interview with CNN this morning, Donald Trump senior adviser Barry Bennett casually suggested that Hillary Clinton would not tell the truth about her emails even if she was tortured using waterboarding.

Bennett was speaking with At This Hour‘s Kate Boludan, about the ongoing investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server while secretary of state. Bennett said:

She has continued to lie about it. She told us the lawyers signed off on it. The inspector general said that’s not true. She said she would cooperate with all the investigations – she stonewalled the IG and now everybody is taking the Fifth. You couldn’t get the truth out of Hillary if you waterboarded her.

Boludan was surprised. “What?” she asked. Bennett again suggested torture wouldn’t get Clinton to tell the truth.

You couldn’t get the truth out of her with a waterboard.

While Trump hasn’t commented on Bennett’s words, Trump said yesterday that Clinton should go to jail. Those comments came after Clinton’s speech about Trump’s foreign policy.

As for Trump’s thoughts on waterboarding, Trump said in April, “I love it.”
