A 29-year-old New Jersey teacher and cheerleading coach is accused of sending inappropriate photos to a student, police say.
Christ is a teacher at South Plainfield High School.

1. She Sent the 2 Photos to a Male Student Through Social Media in February, the Prosecutor Says
Prosecutors did not provide any other details about the photos or how they were sent to the student.
School officials learned about the photos and contacted police, according to the prosecutor’s office.
An investigation was conducted by South Plainfield Police Detective Shaun Clifford and Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Felix De la Cruz, leading to Christ’s arrest on June 27.
The prosecutor’s office said the investigation remains active and is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call Clifford at 908-755-0700 or De la Cruz at 732-745-3300.
It is not clear if she remains an employee of South Plainfield High School. The school district could not be reached for comment.

2. She Is Being Held Without Bail on a Charge of Endangering the Welfare of a Child
Christ was taken to the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center in North Brunswick after she was arrested June 27, the prosecutor said in a press release. She is being held without bail.
She was charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, the prosecutor’s office said.
The charge carries a sentence of between five to 10 years in prison, according to New Jersey law.
3. She Has Worked as a Math Teacher at the High School
Christ has worked as a math teacher at South Plainfield High School for the past two years, the prosecutor’s office said.
She has taught algebra courses to juniors and seniors.
Christ was previously a teacher at Sayreville War Memorial High School in Parlin, New Jersey, prosecutors said.
4. She Was Also the School’s Head Cheerleading Coach & Won a State Championship This Year
Christ was also the head cheerleading coach at the high school. Her team won a state championship this year, according to her posts on social media.
Christ’s page on the South Plainfield High School website is still active, and shows that she held tryouts for next year’s team just last week.
5. She Is a South Plainfield High School Graduate & Went to Rowan University
Christ graduated from South Plainfield High School in 2005, according to her Facebook page.
She then studied math at Rowan University, graduating in 2009.
