WATCH: Bernie Sanders Will Vote For Hillary Clinton

During an appearance on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Bernie Sanders announced that he will vote for his rival Hillary Clinton in November to make sure that Donald Trump does not become president.

While Sanders unequivocally said “Yes,” he will vote for Clinton, he sounded more focused on defeating Trump than supporting the former secretary of state.

“I think the issue right here is that I’m going to do whatever I can to defeat Donald Trump,” Sanders said. “I think Trump, in so many ways, will be a disaster for this country if he were to be elected president. We do not need a president whose cornerstone of his campaign is bigotry, is insulting Mexicans and Latinos and Muslims and women, who does not believe in the reality of climate change when virtually every scientist who has studied this issue understands we have a global crisis.”

Sanders went on to say of Trump, “This is not someone who should become president.”

Sanders said he will continue to push for a strong Democratic platform, which is one that “represents working people, that stands up to big money interests.”

Although Clinton secured enough delegates to become the Democratic presidential nominee earlier this month after the California primary, Sanders had vowed to continue pushing until the convention next month in Philadelphia. In fact, on Thursday night in Manhattan, Sanders drew a packed crowd at The Town Hall and did not concede.

“We cannot allow ourselves to become used to the fact that we have hundreds of thousands of children in this country who are homeless,” he told his supporters, reports USA Today, as they chanted “Run Bernie, Run.” Sanders told them to “Never ever lose your sense of outrage.”

This week, Sanders also wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post, outlining what his supporters want. He also made an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where he explained why he wasn’t dropping out.
