WATCH: Bernie Sanders’ ‘America’ Video Before DNC Speech

Bernie Sanders was welcomed to the stage at the Democratic National Convention by a fired up convention hall.

Moments before Sanders’ address on Monday night, a video highlighting Sanders presidential campaign was shown to the audience.

The video, which features Simon and Garfunkel’s song “America” showed moments from Sanders’ speeches, rallies and campaign events across the United States.

In his speech, the Vermont Senator tried to unite Democrats on the opening night of their convention.

“I understand that many people here in this convention hall and around the country are disappointed about the final results of the nominating process,” Sanders told the audience. “I think it’s fair to say that no one is more disappointed than I am. But to all of our supporters — here and around the country — I hope you take enormous pride in the historical accomplishments we have achieved.”

Sanders’ supporters had a variety of reactions, some emotional, while others booed at the mention of Hillary Clinton’s name. There were several times throughout the night when shouts of “Bernie! Bernie!” rang out.
