Wasserman-Schultz Reacts Angrily to Claim That She's Biased
In a May 2016 email, Wasserman-Schultz reacted to news that MSNBC anchor Mika Brzezinski was calling on her to step down because she was biased against Sanders. Wasserman-Schultz responded: "This is the LAST straw. Please call Phil a Griffin. This is outrageous. She needs to apologize." Phil Griffin is the MSNBC president. She had even reached out to Chuck Todd of NBC's Meet the Press about the issue, asking to schedule a call.
Later, communications director Luis Miranda emailed Chuck Todd of NBC's Meet the Press
again, asking him to report that Wasserman-Schultz had not been unfair to Bernie. Todd questioned if a call with Brzezinski, the MSNBC anchor, would really be a good idea. Miranda said that he knew Joe and Mika of the Morning Joe
team "will say whatever they're going to say in terms of opinion, but at a minimum they should consider the facts on some of the key allegations they're making..." Read the entire email exchange on WikiLeaks here.
