Former Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow took to Instagram to clarify that we will not speak at next week’s Republican National Convention in Cleveland. The New York Times had reported that Tebow was scheduled to speak on July 21.

The former Heisman Trophy winner was reportedly set to speak on the same night that presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is expected to formally accept the party’s nomination.

In the video posted on Instagram, Tebow says he was surprised to hear that he was speaking at the RNC, and called it a rumor.

What’s up, everybody. I just got back from the Philippines, and I wake up this morning to find out I’m speaking at the Republican National Convention. It’s amazing how fast rumors fly, and that’s exactly what it is: A rumor.

Tebow went on to say that while he may get into politics in the future, he’s currently focusing his efforts on running his foundation.

The Tim Tebow Foundation assists children in need through a variety of outreach programs, its mission is “to bring Faith, Hope and Love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need,” according to the foundation’s website.
