The polls reflected favorably for Donald Trump right after the Republican National Convention. Since then, it has been downhill for the Trump campaign.

According to RealClear Politics, Trump trails Clinton in the latest matchup polls by an average of 6.7 percentage points. While Clinton’s lead has not grown in the latest batch of polls, her lead on Trump is holding steady.

After months of displaying confidence on the campaign trail, Trump has alluded to the possibility of losing the election in recent weeks. He spoke about the idea in a CNBC interview.

“At the end, it’s either going to work, or I’m going to, you know, I’m going to have a very, very nice, long vacation,” Trump told CNBC (via the Associated Press).

He admitted to a group of ministers in Florida that the campaign is facing a challenge, and pointed to his bluntness as potentially costing him in November.

“It could cost us the Supreme Court,” Trump told the ministers (via Associated Press).

Multiple prediction models show Clinton with a great chance to win the election. FiveThirtyEight’s polls-plus model gives Clinton a 76.7 percent chance to win. The New York Times’ model gives her an 88 percent chance of winning in the fall.
