Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump will hold a rally in Roanoke, Virginia this evening.
Trump’s event will be held at the Berglund Center beginning at 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time. It can be viewed in the embedded YouTube player via Right Side Broadcasting.
This is Trump’s final event before the first presidential debate on September 26th. He will be taking Sunday and Monday off from the campaign trail in order to prepare to face Hillary Clinton.
Trump has recently mocked his opponent, Hillary Clinton, for taking time off in order to prepare for the debate.
“Where is Hillary today,” Trump asked at a rally on Thursday, according to the Los Angeles Times. “Well, they say she’s practicing for the debate. Some people think she’s sleeping.”
He also mocked her on Twitter during the week for “taking the day off again.”
Hillary Clinton is taking the day off again, she needs the rest. Sleep well Hillary – see you at the debate!
Trump’s preparation for the debate will reportedly include watching video of Hillary Clinton’s past debate performances, The New York Times reported on Friday. The debate will take place on September 26th at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time at Hofstra University on Long Island.
In Virginia, where Trump is making his campaign stop today, Hillary Clinton is currently ahead in the polls, even as Trump begins to catch up in other battleground states. In Real Clear Politics’ polling average, Clinton is ahead of Trump by six points, 47.0 percent to 41.0 percent. FiveThirtyEight forecasts that Clinton has a 75.9 percent chance of winning Virginia in November.
