Monica Mares & Caleb Peterson: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

A mother and son from New Mexico have declared they are “in love with each other” but both have been charged with criminal incest, according to The Kansas City Star.

Monica Mares, 36, and her son Caleb Peterson, 19, are “unapologetic” about their relationship and have given detailed interviews trying to explain it, the newspaper said. The UK Daily Mail says they went public in an exclusive interview with the British publication to try to increase public acceptance for “Genetic Sexual Attraction (GSA) relationships.”

They are the second mother-child incest relationship to hit the news recently. In Oklahoma, a mother and daughter were charged with felony incest counts after they were allegedly allowed to “legally” marry. In that case, the mother, Patricia Spann allegedly told investigators she “hit it off” with her daughter, Misty Velvet Dawn Spann.
