Presidential Polls 2016: Who Is Ahead After 2nd Debate?

There has been no shortage of controversy over the last month of the presidential race. After two debates, Donald Trump still trails Hillary Clinton in the majority of the polls.

The Trump campaign did get good news in two recent polls. Trump leads Clinton by a percentage point in the latest Los Angeles Times/USC Tracking poll conducted in the week following the second debate. Another ABC News/Washington Post poll conducted over the same time frame shows Clinton with a 4 percentage point lead over Trump.

A Monmouth poll conducted October 14-16 has Clinton with a 12 percentage point lead. The NBC News/Wall Street Journal and FOX News polls were also more favorable to Clinton. She leads Trump by 10 percentage points in the NBC News poll and 8 percentage points in the FOX News poll.

Clinton has an 84.9 percent chance of winning in Five Thirty Eight’s polls-plus forecast. Predict Wise gives Clinton a 91 percent chance of winning in November.

Both candidates will participate in the third and final debate on Wednesday, October 19.
