WATCH: Gary Johnson’s Reaction to New FBI Probe Into Hillary Clinton’s Email

Gary Johnson, the Libertarian Party’s presidential nominee, appeared on CNN Friday shortly after news broke about the FBI’s new probe into Democrat Hillary Clinton‘s email server.

Johnson said, “These Wikileaks saying one thing to one group and another — saying one thing to Wall Street and one thing to Main Street — for me, both sides — it doesn’t cut it. Either side. I do think there’s an honorable alternative. It happens to be me and Bill Weld, two former Republican governors that served in heavily Democrat states. Hey, maybe we still will occupy the White House, maybe it’s a possibility here.”

FBI Director James Comey wrote a letter to a Congressional oversight committee, explaining his agency had found the “existence of emails that appear to be pertinent to the investigation” into Clinton’s server use during her time as Secretary of State. Clinton had used her personal email account for government business, the FBI found, through a server based in her New York home’s basement. The setup has been a political concern for Clinton, and opponents have used it against her.

The New York Times reports the latest development is because of federal investigators’ probe into former New York Congressman Anthony Weiner’s alleged sexting with a 15-year-old girl. Devices owned by Weiner and his wife, Clinton confidante Huma Abedin, were turned over to the FBI, according to the Times.

GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump was at a rally in New Hampshire when the news broke.

“…And they are re-opening the case into her criminal and illegal conduct that threatens the security of the United States of America,” Trump said. “Hillary Clinton’s corruption is on a scale we’ve never seen before. We must not let her take her criminal scheme into the Oval Office.”
