The Chattanooga, Tennessee, community is in mourning after five students were killed in a horrific school bus crash on the way home from Woodmere Elementary School. Local and federal investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash, and say speed was likely a factor. Terrifying photos from the scene showed the bus wrapped around a tree on the law of a home. Several students were seriously injured and nearly two dozen were taken to the hospital, police said. The bus driver, Johnthony Walker, has been arrested and charged with five counts of vehicular homicide, the Chattanooga Police Department says. Jasmine Mateen, who lost her 6-year-old daughter in the crash told CBS News another one of her daughters who survived told her Walker said "Y'all ready to die?" to the kids before the crash. Police have not confirmed that account.
As the investigation into what happened continues, the shellshocked families of the victims have begun to identify the children killed in the crash. Fi of the children killed in the crash were identified by family members on Tuesday: Cordayja Jones, 9; D'Myunn Brown, 6; Zoie Nash, 9; and Zyaira Mateen, 6. Zyanna Harris, 10.
