About 650,000 Attended the March for Life in D.C. in 2013
In 2013, when the March for Live event was associated with the 40th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision, about 650,000 people attended the march in Washington, D.C. The photo above is from the 2013 event. In 2011 and 2012, an estimated 400,000 attended each year. The numbers were much lower in 2016, just in the thousands, but this was also because a blizzard had dropped about two feet of snow in D.C.
During the event that took place today, Vice President Mike Pence told the crowd: "Life is winning in America and today is a celebration of that progress!" People who attended commented that they felt more optimistic because the administration was on their side, McClatchy DC reported
