To kick off Black History Month, President Donald Trump gathered his African American supporters at the White House for a "listening" session where he spoke about Frederick Douglass as if he were still alive. Douglass was a famous 19th century abolitionist and social reformer who was born into slavery. He died in 1895. According to The Washington Post, Trump lauded such civil rights titans as Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther King Jr., but seemed particularly enamored by Douglass. “Frederick Douglass,” the president said, “is an example of somebody who’s done an amazing job and is being recognized more and more, I notice.” Twitter took notice of Trump's apparent guffaw and began to churn out these hilarious memes about President Trump and the newly resurrected Frederick Douglass.
