Trump: 'We Will Take Care of Our Country'
When he began his speech, Trump noted that there were still people outside waiting, who couldn't get in. He then talked about Kentucky and all the famous people who came from Kentucky. "Henry Clay believed in what he called the American system and proposed tariffs to protect American industry and finance American infrastructure," he noted. "I'm honored to be here today with many of your tremendous modern-day leaders. We're joined tonight by our Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell." He asked the crowd to cheer for Mitch. (Sean Duggan noted earlier that Mitch had gotten more boos than cheers earlier.) He introduced a number of other people who were there, in support of his presidency. "We are going to start taking care of our country," Trump said, emphasizing the world "our." (Getty)
