White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer drew heat today after comparing Adolf Hitler and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, claiming Hilter didn't use chemical weapons but sent Jews to "Holocaust centers." The word Spicer was looking for was "concentration camps." The faux pas came this afternoon at a White House press briefing. Watch it here. Spicer said that Hitler didn’t use chemical weapons during World War II, seemingly forgetting that that Hitler killed some six million European Jews—many with chemical weapons. “We didn’t use chemical weapons in World War II. You know, you had a… Someone as despicable as Hitler, who didn’t even sink to using chemical weapons," Spicer originally said.Spicer later circled back to try and clarify, saying that Hitler didn’t use gas on his own people in the “same way” that al-Assad was doing.
