The nationwide manhunt for Facebook killer Steve “Stevie” Stephens is over.
Police confirmed that Stephens shot and killed himself in his white Ford Fusion in Erie, Pennsylvania at around 11:10 a.m. on April 18.
Pennsylvania State Police responded to a tip that said a vehicle similar to Stephens’ was in the parking lot of a McDonald’s. When police followed-up on the tip and approached the car, Stephens fled and a pursuit ensued, which lasted roughly 10 minutes.
Pennsylvania State Police said in a statement that officers in pursuit of Stephens rammed the back of his Fusion to try and disable it. As his car was spinning out and coming to a stop on Buffalo Road, Stephens pulled out a pistol and shot himself in the head.
Stephens was on the run from police after he randomly shot and killed 74-year-old Robert Godwin Sr. on April 16.
