WATCH: Rob Gronkowski Crashes White House Press Briefing

During the White House press briefing this afternoon, New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski unexpectedly showed up.

As Sean Spicer was talking about something completely unrelated to the Patriots or football, Gronkowski suddenly poked his head into the room, saying, “Sean, you need some help?”

Spicer, who is a big Patriots fan, seemed genuinely surprised by this, telling Gronkowski that he has things handled but thanking him anyway.

“Thanks, man,” Spicer said. “I’ll see you in a minute.”

Spicer then returned to the press briefing but joked that it would be difficult to follow that.

Rob Gronkowski is at the White House because the New England Patriots are visiting this afternoon. Tom Brady, however, will not be there, as he says that he has family matters to attend to.

“Thank you to the President for hosting this honorary celebration and for supporting our team for as long as I can remember,” Brady said in a statement, according to ESPN. “In light of some recent developments, I am unable to attend today’s ceremony, as I am attending to some personal family matters”

Spicer has talked about his love of the Patriots and of Tom Brady in particular.

Rob Gronkowski loves to show up places completely unannounced. A few weeks ago, he made headlines when he participated in a match at WrestleMania 33. Nobody even knew Gronkowski was going to be at WrestleMania, let alone that he would get involved in a match. He was there helping his friend Mojo Rawley, a professional WWE wrestler.
